We, the Associated Student Government (ASG), empower students by creating opportunities to become involved and become a leader. We collaborate with the college and community in order to provide a supportive environment for our diverse students so that they can become personally enriched.
The Associated Student Government (ASG) at Bates Technical College provides direct representation in the development and establishment of policies and procedures that affect student life. The ASG is responsible for developing the annual student fees budget, allocating funds to clubs and representing student concerns on various college committees and to administration. You can learn more about ASG by reading the bylaws.
General assembly meetings are held the third Wednesday of every month from 11:15 - 12:15 p.m. These meetings are open to all students and rotate among the college's three campuses.
Student Clubs
ASG has many clubs for students who share a common interest, either personally or professionally. Active clubs in the past include Marketing & Business Management, the Mad Scrapbookers Club, Legal Club, Student Nurses Achieving Professionalism (SNAP), and more. If you are interested in joining or starting a club, please contact Kat Flores or LeMont Lucas.
ASG Student Leadership
Students can be elected or appointed to various leadership roles. President and Vice President positions for ASG are elected every spring. If you are interested in learning about which leadership positions are open, contact Kat Flores or LeMont Lucas in the Diversity Center room E301 of the Downtown Campus.
