March for MLK

Monday, January 21 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m., DT Campus

Fifty years later, the march continues on. And for the ninth year, Bates staff, students and countless community members will march to the City of Tacoma's annual Martin Luther King Jr. celebration. We extend an invitation for you to join us to celebrate the silver anniversary of Dr. King's 'I Have a Dream' speech, and march with us from Bates' Downtown Campus on 11th Street and Yakima Avenue to the Greater Tacoma Convention & Trade Center at 1500 Broadway.

Schedule of events

9 a.m. - Refreshments in the cafeteria

10 a.m. - March begins

11 a.m. - Community celebration at the trade center

A shuttle bus will be available to return marchers to the Downtown Campus after the event.
