Acclaimed spoken-word artist Joshua Bennett performs at Bates’ Black History Month event

TACOMA, Wash. - We're All People, Bates Technical College's Black History Month event, will feature award-winning performance poet Joshua Bennett on Tuesday, Feb. 25, 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Downtown Campus, 1101 S. Yakima Avenue in Tacoma.

Bennett, a native of Yonkers, New York, has recited original poetry at the Sundance Film Festival, President Obama's An Evening of Poetry and Music, the NAACP Image Awards, and more. He was also a featured poet on "Russell Simmons Presents: Brave New Voices," an HBO documentary series.
