Bates’ Veterans Day event focuses on transitioning veterans

Tuesday, November 5

TACOMA, Wash. - The public is invited to attend Bates Technical College's Veterans Day event on Tuesday, Nov. 12, 11 a.m.-noon, at the college's South Campus auditorium, 2201 S. 78th Street in Tacoma.

The event will focus on the challenges veterans face as they transition from military life to higher education. In keeping with the theme, Coming Home: A New Mission, the event features testimonials from local veterans who have made the transition, and keynote speaker Craig L. Brown, an Army veteran who works at the Department of Veterans Affairs, will address how he made the transition from military to civilian life. Attendees will also learn about services offered through the Student Veterans Center and other veterans-related initiatives.
