Filling the shoes of retired Congressman, Norm Dicks, is a mighty big job. The job taken up by Derek Kilmer, freshman Congressman representing Washington's 6th district.

A former member of the Washington State Senate, Kilmer represented the 26th district from 2007 to 2013, moving from the  Washington House of Representatives where he served from 2005 through 2007.

The Congressman is an alumnus of Princeton University (class of 1996). He won a Marshall Scholarship to the University of Oxford, where he earned a PhD.
