Graduates have an opportunity to enter four-year program with junior-level standing

TACOMA, Wash. - Bates Technical College President Dr. Ron Langrell and Peninsula College President Dr. Luke Robins signed an articulation agreement that will enable Bates graduates who meet specific degree standards to seamlessly transfer into Peninsula College's bachelor of applied science program.   The two presidents signed the agreement on Friday, Nov. 15.

"This new relationship with Peninsula College provides our students and graduates with the advantage of pursuing a four-year degree, directly enrolling in upper-division courses with junior-level standing," said Dr. Langrell.

Dean of Instruction Joshua Baker noted, "This articulation agreement opens doors for our graduates to continue their education and open access to higher-wage jobs," he said. "Peninsula College's online bachelor degree will give them the education and skills they need to rise to the level of management in their respective fields," Baker remarked.

Under the agreement, graduates who have earned an associate of applied science-transferable or an associate of applied science degree, with a grade point average of 2.0 or better, will be able to seamlessly transfer into the bachelor degree program, and have their application fee waived. Qualified applicants must have completed five credit courses in 100-level college math, English 101, humanities, and natural science, all with a grade point average of 2.0 or better.
