KBTC's Full Focus presents A Beautiful Life: The Carol Decker Story

Wednesday, June 13

Carol DeckerTACOMA, Wash. - In June 2008, Enumclaw resident Carol Decker was like any other expectant mother: full of anticipation, and eagerly awaiting the arrival of her second child. But in a matter of hours, a massive reaction to an infection had her fighting for her life.

Sepsis, one of the least-recognized illnesses, attacks more than 258,000 Americans each year [source], and accounts for 17 percent of all hospital deaths [source]. Carol's battle with this reaction resulted in the amputation of three limbs and blindness.

For four years, She has experienced intense pain, despair and frustration. On Monday, June 25 at 6:30 p.m. on KBTC Public Television, you can experience first-hand her inspiring journey of Carol's nearly fatal fight with sepsis in A Beautiful Life: The Carol Decker Story. Learn how she has turned her personal struggle into a quest to help others deal with similar challenges through motivational speaking.

A Beautiful Life: The Carol Decker Story is part of KBTC's Emmy Award-winning series, Full Focus, Western Washington's only weekly documentary series. Click here for more information.
