Boat Building

Mission: To Inspire, Challenge and Educate.

Vision: To provide practical instruction combining problem solving, teamwork, and hands - on skills, with the pride and satisfaction that comes from personally fulfilling work. Students learning concepts of design, and diverse methods of construction will be equipped to handle the changing needs of today’s boat building industry.

Programs


Boat Frame

Associate of Technology Degree

A comprehensive program averaging 19 months, covering Basic Boat Building Design and Construction, and either Fiberglass Boat Building and Repair or Wood/Composite Boat Building. Student must also complete courses in Human Relations, Communications and Mathematics.

Certificate of Competency

A program averaging 11 months in length, covering Basic Boat Building Design and Construction and either Fiberglass Boat Building and Repair or Wood Composite Boat Building. Students must complete basic courses in Human Relations, Communications and Mathematics.

Alternate Training Programs Certificates of Training 

Shorter programs targeting the specific training areas of Basic Boat Building Design and Construction, Fiberglass Boat Building and Repair or Wood/Composite Boat Building. Average course length: 37 to 39 weeks.

Continuing Education

Individual evening courses offered periodically to cover specific topics related to Boat building.
