New Employees

Congratulations! As a new employee, we would like to welcome you to Bates Technical College.

All new faculty and staff are required to successfully complete training in the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). FERPA refers to the federal policy that Bates is required to uphold in order to protect the privacy of our students. The policy governs the kind of information that can be released to the public, and what information must be kept confidential.

Also, new employees are required to participate in the sexual harassment training. Sexual harassment is any unwelcome sexual advance or conduct in the workplace that creates an intimidating, hostile, or offensive working environment. Under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, all sexual harassment in the workplace is prohibited.

Our comprehensive personnel presentation offers an overview of college policies. The presentation provides insight about our policies and how they are likely to impact you in the workplace.
