Carole Brewer

Carole directs the Educator Training Center for Bates Technical College . The center serves as a teaching and learning resource providing training, technical assistance, instructional support, and technology resources.

Carole brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the center. She artfully leads the team—and you'll often find her in the trenches supporting the center's efforts and activities.

Elaine

Elaine Kurlinski, Manager, Educator Training Center

Elaine brings an extensive background to the center with experience as a classroom teacher as well as expertise in mentoring, training, and supporting teachers, administrators, and others. As manager of the center, she is a great resource for information on the many services we provide.

Elaine also manages the statewide, distance-learning Paraeducator Training Program and the CTE Grades 9-12 Teacher Certification Training, which corresponds seamlessly with the college's faculty certification training.

Jannica

Jannica Jones, Administrative Assistant

Jannica provides administrative support to the Educator Training Center —which is no small task. She also masterfully supports the management of the center's Career and Technical Education (CTE) teacher certification training.

Jannica brings obvious, as well as hidden, talents and experience to the center. Did you know she is a Bates' graduate?

In addition to keeping the center running at full sail, you'll find her more than willing and able to provide technical assistance in the center's mini-lab. You may even on occasion witness Jannica and Beth experiencing a self-described computer geek moment!

Beth

Beth Cummings, Instructional Course Designer, Distance Learning

Beth provides training and support to faculty in the use of innovative and effective instructional technology. She is our highly qualified technology guru and brings vast knowledge and experience to the center—and a great sense of humor.

Beth is available to consult individually with faculty who are interested in using technology in their curriculum, and she provides small group and department-based training as well.

Jayne

Jayne Ashby, Project Specialist, Universal Design for Learning

Jayne coordinates the Universal Design for Learning (UDL) project for the college. Along with Jayne's education, she brings to the center a wealth of project management, teaching, research and curriculum development experience. She is especially skilled in building effective relationships and supporting faculty as they learn how to implement UDL strategies in their classrooms.

Nerissa

Downtown Campus Technology Center

Nerissa provides instruction in computer literacy and standard and advanced software applications at our Downtown Campus Technology Center. She has over ten years of experience developing and delivering training and educational programs for our students and staff. In addition to holding a master’s degree, her certifications include master certification as a Microsoft Master Instructor and Microsoft Office User Specialist, and Expert-User Level in Access, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

Carol Peila, Instructor, Software Applications
South Campus Technology Center

Carol provides instruction in computer literacy at our South Campus Technology Center and offers online courses using Microsoft applications. She has over nine years of experience developing curriculum and delivering training for our students and staff.

Carol supports students and staff—both one-on-one and in the classroom—to help them learn new or enhance their existing computer skills.
