Students prepare for careers providing services as medical transcriptionists. The program also provides extended learning for persons previously or currently employed in this occupation.
Medical transcriptionists work in doctors' offices, clinics, and hospitals. They also may work at home for a transcription service, or establish their own home business.
Graduates may become certified medical transcriptionists (CMT) after successful completion of a two-part certification examination administered by the American Association for Medical Transcription.
