Students holding a valid, Washington State driver’s license will prepare for entry-level employment as commercial truck drivers with the goal of obtaining a Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with all endorsements.
Training takes place in the classroom, on Bates’ truck driving range and on the road using a variety of equipment. Training is full-time, Mondays through Fridays, with new training classes starting throughout the school year. Bates Technical College has the only commercial truck driving program in the State of Washington that is PTDI Certified (Professional Truck Driver Institute).
Bates’ truck driving programs are available through the college’s pre-employment program at no cost to students who qualify as TANF recipients or low-wage parents. Contact Bates’ Job Readiness Training Center, 253.680.7290, for more information.
