The electrical power and process automation program specializes in the intelligent control of electrically operated machines. The training is an excellent precursor to a variety of electrical apprenticeships. Studies include electricity/electronics, solid-state devices, digital logic, microcontrollers, transducers/ sensors, single phase and three phase power systems, motors, motor control systems, smart motor controllers, variable frequency drives, motor control centers, programmable logic controllers, industrial networks, fluid power systems, construction practices, mechanical systems and instrumentation.
Students gain extensive practical experience utilizing real-world equipment and software in an envorinment that mirrors the workplace.
