Wireless Voice and Data Communications is a specialized area of the Advanced Technologies and Computer Sciences department. This degree program prepares students for employment as technicians in the dynamic communications and wireless industry. Few technologies have grown and evolved as fast as wireless communications: Progressive infrastructures that enable the transmission of voice, data and images through cellular, satellite devices, optical fibers, copper wires, telephone, broadcast and wireless networks. The goal of the program is to provide graduates with the wide variety of skills necessary to obtain entry level employment within this rewarding industry.
The program emphasizes preparation for, and attainment of, the Federal Communications Commission General Radiotelephone Operators License, including a Radar Systems Endorsement and various Cisco certifications. Additional industry certifications include Wireless Network Installer, Network Cabling Specialist, and Certified Fiber Optic Technician.
