Through hands-on experience in a 10-chair operational shop open to the public, students prepare to become licensed Washington State Barbers. While in the seven-month program, each student is required to pass comprehensive written and practical examinations encompassing theoretical concepts and skills required of a practicing barber. Students must be at least 17 years old to apply for a state barbering license. The Washington State examination is recognized by the National-Interstate Council.
The program also provides continuing education for persons currently or previously employed in this occupation.
