Carpentry

Students prepare for apprenticeship employment in the construction industry, filling positions within the carpentry trade such as carpenter, framer, concrete worker, or interior or exterior finisher. Off-campus building and remodeling projects provide opportunities for extensive practical training, giving students valuable experience in the many facets of the carpentry trade, from estimating construction projects through all phases of construction, to finished building. Persons previously or currently employed in closely related professions may take extended learning classes to build and enhance skills.

The program is approved by the Joint Apprenticeship Training Committee. Credits are awarded to people entering Carpentry and the LADS (Lath, Acoustical, Drywall Systems and Thermal Insulation Installers) apprenticeships.
