Cosmetology

Students work in a salon environment to prepare for careers as cosmetologists with a curriculum designed to provide competency-based knowledge, scientific/artistic principle and practical fundamentals associated with the industry.

Cosmetology offers a wide variety of professional careers, including hairstylists, haircolor specialists, perm specialists, estheticians, nailcare artists, manicurists, salon owners, instructors, skin care specialists, makeup artists, salon managers and coordinators, salon sales consultants, manufacturer sales representatives, fashion show stylists beauty care product distributors, beauty product designers and consultants.

To meet state license requirements, students are evaluated and tested on the performance of each competency, ensuring their readiness for entrance into the profession.
