Electronic Resources

• AccessScience  - Contains dictionary definitions and encyclopedia, magazine and journal articles, as well as research updates in the areas of science and technology.
• ACSE Research Library   - Database of articles and conference papers in civil engineering. Free access to index and abstracts; full-text contents may require purchase or subscription or, to request an interlibrary loan, contact the Bates Library. 
• Google SketchUp  - Downloadable 3D modeling software tool.
• NFPA  - Full text of current and past fire codes, including electrical codes, plus "Formal Interpretations," "Tentative Interim Amendments," etc. It can be searched by word or phrase, or browsed by code number or title.
• Patent Full-Text and Full-Page Images Database  - Searchable database of issued patents and published applications, from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. 
• PerfectFirefighter Candidate  - Job listings in fire protection engineering and firefighting.
• Reference USA  - Information on U.S. and Canadian companies. Searchable by company name, industry, location, number of employees, and other criteria.
