According to Occupational Information Network (O*Net) there is a projected need of 41,000 additional employees, with a projected growth of 14-20% faster than the national average

Currently, the biotechnology industry in the Puget Sound region employs 23,000 people and the demand for technicians with a degree or certificate in biotechnology is growing at the rate of approximately 3,000 technicians per year. Graduates of the program work indoors, in clean environments with good wages (According to US Department of Labor Occupational Employment Statistics - Occupational Employment and Wages, May 2007) and many jobs come with excellent benefits (medical, dental, retirement, vacation, etc.)
