Advisory Board
The advisory board is a network of experts who have agreed to give the Biotechnology program meaningful help on a regular basis in many different areas, including law, organizational development, technology, policy, and outreach. Their abilities, experience, and knowledge were selected for how they complement the organization as a whole.
The value of an advisory committee
- Strategic Input - Advisory committees bring years of experience to help craft the best strategies for the curriculum.
- Sounding Board - Advisors provide excellent feedback on new ideas and can be a personal sounding board for the instructors.
- Objective Perspective - Non-employee advisory committees have a higher level of neutrality than college employees.
- New Ideas - Diversity in backgrounds and perspectives among advisors helps spark creativity.
- New Contacts – Advisory committee members make introductions to potential new customers, alliance partners, sources of jobs and other key groups.
- Instructor Mentoring - Advisory committees bring new insight and inspiration to the instructional team.
- Industry Expertise - Advisory committee members' years of experience bring to light nuances of a company's industry that might otherwise be overlooked.
- Cost Effective - Advisory committees provide on-demand access at a lower cost than a full-time senior team with comparable expertise.
