An "automotive diagnosis and repair reference [designed] for professional automotive technicians." It includes diagrams, service and maintenance instructions, diagnostic trouble codes, Technical Service Bulletins, forms, checklists, and more. Tech Rx by Rich Diegle, is a collection of helpful articles based on service professional submissions. Available from Bates computers only; no remote access.
Concise, reliable, and up-to-date reports on more than 180 cultures around the world.
Contains full-text articles from magazines, newspapers and books. Also contains a map collection, photo archives and radio/tv transcripts.
Provides instant access to 5,156 full-text periodical titles (more than 9,200 titles in all). Users rely on InfoTrac OneFile for access to periodical and news content as well as indexing from a variety of general and specialized journals – from the New York Times and Christian Science Monitor to refereed academic journals.
The subscription to the Heavy Truck Service contains information on engines and chassis, repair procedures, engine-control system diagnosis, and technical bulletins for medium and heavy gasoline and diesel trucks. Available from Bates computers only; no remote access. Contact the Library for the usernames and passwords.
Contains over 3,600 non-fiction, online books that are shared with other libraries in the BCR consortium. The full-text, online e-Books can be either browsed (for up to 15 minutes) or checked out (check out period varies.) Remote access is available by connecting to netLibrary from a networked Bates computer and then signing up for an individual e-Book account with your own login and password that may be used from any computer with Internet access.
This database contains the full text of current and past fire codes, plus "Formal Interpretations," "Tentative Interim Amendments," etc. It can be searched by word or phrase, or browsed by code number or title. All users must enter an NFPA identification number and password, available to current students, faculty, and staff. Please contact library staff.
Lists firefighter job openings throughout the country. Contact the Library for the necessary user name and password to log into the database.
Indexes and abstracts articles from six online ProQuest Direct databases including: ABI/INFORM Trade & Industry (700+ full-text trade and industry publications), Career and Technical Education (400+ vocational and technical periodicals), ProQuest Newspapers (major national and Washington State newspapers), Reference (a small collection of reference books), Research Library Complete (several national newspapers, magazines and journals on a wide range of topics), Ethnic Newswatch, and Teachers Journals (20 professional educators titles). Many of the articles are full-text. ProQuest is provided jointly by the Washington State Library and the Bates Technical College Library, and is funded in part with federal LSTA funds. Remote access is available by clicking on this link http://proquest.umi.com/pqdweb and entering the proper login and password.
Provides information on over 12 million U.S. businesses and organizations. Also contains a consumer database with 120 million residential listings from U.S. telephone directories. Remote access is available.
An information source for scientific, technical, and medical research. Full text access to over 900 journals in health and life sciences.
SkillsTutor enables registered users to refresh core academic skills in Reading, Writing, Math, Language Arts, Algebra, and Science. This instruction and tutoring program is ideal for extending learning, complements a variety of K-12 classes and adult education courses. Remote access is available. All users, however, must register a user name and password in the library.
Provides information on over 340 occupations in Washington State and contains information about schools and programs that provide training in those occupations. Also provides links to available job openings and job-related web sites. Contains an online 32-question assessment for use in determining the occupations best-suited to you.
WOIS Test Prep allows users to register for 90 days and take trial tests of the SAT, ACT, PSAT, GED, ASVAB and even some of the CLEP examinations. Remote access is available. |
