On behalf of the Board of Trustees, welcome to Bates Technical College. Bates is a wonderful college with many fine faculty and staff members, all of whom are here to help you learn, grow, and be successful. We are on the cutting edge of new technologies, and our mission is to provide you with the training you need to enter the workforce immediately.

For nearly 65 years, the Tacoma community has supported the efforts of our faculty and staff and helped to guide our direction. I am proud to work with more than 50 advisory committees and over 450 people who assist our college to provide even better service and up-to-date information for you, our students. These community people work closely with our faculty and staff and are a constant source of information and support. As a result, we have touched many lives in the Puget Sound area and are an important resource for business, industry, and labor.

Bates faculty provide the very best in career and technical education, as well as general education. Their focus is on you the student. All of us are here to help you with the many exciting educational opportunities available to you. As students, you have many opportunities to be heard, including through the Associated Student Government student senators.
