Completion Credentials Bates offers two-year associate of technology degrees, certificates of competency, certificates of training, industry certifications and, in specific programs, prepares students for the achievement of state licensure achievement. The college maintains articulation degrees with several four-year universities, making some of the college’s two-year degrees transferable. (Find Out More.)
Campus Amenities In addition to the services we offer to our students, many of our career programs offer services to the public, including cosmetology, barbering, dental assisting, denturist and automotive programs. Enrollment Nearly 15,000 people enroll at Bates each year in our degree, certificate, certification and extended learning programs. Average full-time student enrollment is approximately 1,500 students per year.
Faculty Faculty are industry experts who have mastered their profession. Our faculty maintains close ties with industry to ensure that Bates’ programs stays current with the latest industry developments and workplace requirements. Bates students learn in classrooms that mirror the workplace.
Community Relationships Bates Technical College values its partnerships, both locally and internationally. Some 500 managers and workers from local business and industry serve on our program advisory committees, advising faculty and administration in workplace needs and trends. Bates partners with many local, regional and national businesses, including four local hospitals, 22 fire departments, and 20 local Home and Family Life cooperative sites. Bates is a regional training site for Cisco Academy, Kawasaki Motors, and Bombardier Motor Corporation of America. The college has many training partnerships, including agreements with Smith Tractor, Interstate Trucking, John Deere, and the Environmental Coalition of South Seattle.
