Alternate Programs
All three programs are available to the general public, and are long enough to qualify for financial aid. VA funding is also available.
Basic Boat Building is a 712 hour (about 20 weeks) program alternate to Boat Building. Students completing all elements of the program are authorized issuance of a Bates Technical College Certificate of Training. At only 43 credits total, the program does not have a General Education requirement.
Fiberglass Boat Building is a 617 hour (about 17 weeks) program alternate to Boat Building. Students completing all elements of the program are authorized issuance of a Bates Technical College Certificate of Training. At only 37 credits total, the program does not have a General Education requirement
Wood/Composite Boat Building is a 682 hour (about 19 weeks) program alternate to Boat Building. The program is available to those who meet specific prerequisites (completion of Basic Boat Building). Students completing all elements of the program are authorized issuance of a Bates Technical College Certificate of Training. At only 41 credits total, the program does not have a General Education requirement. |
