Hazardous Materials On Scene Incident Command

This course provides the student with the knowledge and skills necessary to assume control of a Haz-Mat incident scene beyond the first responder awareness level and to handle the Haz-Mat situation safely. Competencies will include knowledge of Local and State Emergency Response Plans, and Federal Regional Response Teams. Hazardous Materials Technician 80 hours Prerequisite for this class is Haz-Mat Operations The goals of the Hazardous Materials Technician course is to develop a level of competency that will allow individuals, at the Technician Level, to approach the point of release in order to plug, patch, or otherwise stop the release. The course will also examine incident management to allow the Technician to be able to work effectively in such a system.
