In addition to career track degree and certificate programs, Bates Technical College offers many programs to enhance the achievement of both career and life skills, including programs for personal enrichment, workplace skill building, career advancement, business development and others. Many classes in these programs are offered evenings and weekends to accommodate busy work schedules.

Apprenticeship
Bates Technical College has a 65 year history providing state-approved apprenticeship training programs. We register over 1,500 apprentices annually and currently operate 16 apprenticeship disciplines offering both classroom and on-the-job training. Apprenticeships provide paid, on-the-job learning opportunities in the field with wages beginning at a percentage of the journey-level rate and increasing based on satisfactory progress in both the classroom and on the job. The BMTC provides management training and advisory services to businesses, governmental entities and non-profit organizations. The Home and Family Life Department offers an extensive menu of childbirth, parenting, child development and other classes. For those interested in pursuing a career in child care or early childhood education, the department offers a comprehensive training and certification program. Job Readiness Training Center (JRTC)
The JRTC’s mission is to provide learning experiences that contribute to, develop, and support the emerging work demands of our community.
