TACOMA, WA  KBTC Public Television's weekly documentary series, Full Focus, won two Emmy awards, the highest honor in television, from this year’s Northwest Regional Emmy Awards held on May 30 in Snoqualmie.

Full Focus “Hero” won in the category of Historic/Cultural-Feature/Segment, and Full Focus “Liberation” won in the category of Historic/Cultural-Program/Special.  The weekly documentary series highlights the history, culture, and personalities that make Washington a unique and special place to live.  Both award-winning programs explored the sacrifice and contribution made by local soldiers who fought to protect our freedom in World War II, with Daniel Kopec as writer/producer and Christopher Sherlock as videographer/editor.

This year, Full Focus received six nominations for “Liberation,” “Hero,” “Exploration Northwest,” and “Illumination,” and Kopec was nominated in the individual categories of Writer and Director.

Now in its third season, Full Focus has received a total of five Emmy Awards and 13 nominations.  The program can be seen Tuesday nights at 7:30 on KBTC Public Television.

"KBTC is very proud of the work that goes into Full Focus. Each edition chronicles local stories from an in-depth perspective, and after watching it you truly feel connected to the people and their experiences at a very personal level.  Its local storytelling at its best,” says Phil Kane, KBTC’s Interim General Manager.

Full Focus is produced by and broadcast exclusively on KBTC; it is available on Comcast, Click, Rainier Connect, Dish Network, Direct TV, and over the air throughout Western Washington.
