TACOMA, Wash. – For many non-native English speakers, simple communication can be challenging. Students can work to overcome the language barrier and increase their access to resources or jobs with Bates Technical College’s English as a Second Language (ESL) course.
The ESL course meets at the Fife Community Center, 2111 54th Ave. E, room #3 in Fife, Mondays and Wednesdays, 9-11:30 a.m., Sept. 14 – Nov. 18.
Because students share child-care responsibilities during class, children are welcome. Tuition is $25 and Bates provides tuition waivers for students with children enrolled in Bates’ Early Childhood Education and Assistance Program (ECEAP).
