Bates Technical College Fire Service program offers a full array of training options, including Hazardous Materials training, Emergency Medical Technician Training, Wildland Firefighter II, and our Fire Recruit Academy. Course Offerings
Emergency Medical Technician
Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) students must be at least 18 years old, have valid driver's license; a high school diploma/GED, and proof of CPR/FA Health Care Provider Certificate.
Fire Recruit Academy
This ten-week Fire Recruit Academy, offered at our South Campus, is designed for entry level career staff or individuals seeking advanced training and evaluation, and is IFSAC accredited for Firefighter I.
Hazardous Materials Training
These NFPA compliant Hazardous Materials Training Classes are available at Bates Technical College or your training center. Class schedules are based on industry demand; dates and times may vary.
Wildland Firefighter II
These National Wildlife Coordinating Group (NWCG) courses include instruction and practical application components of S130 and S190. Fire department affiliation required for Red Card Certification. In-house classes and on-site classes are available. A minimum of ten attendees is required in most cases.
