Web design and development skills are more desirable today than they ever before. Those employed in this job field design and create websites and are responsible for creating layout designs and user interfaces that have the right blend of information, structure, navigation and graphics.

To stay competitive in the field, developers must be aware of changing web standards, and issues such as browser and mobile device compatibility. In this program, you'll learn to use industry software, including design, development, social media and content management tools.

Several different jobs titles can be classified as web designer or developer. From visual designer to developing pages writing code to user testing, accessibility experts, social media specialist, and content creator, you'll find these titles and tasks throughout the world of web design. This field is constantly evolving with innovation and reinvention. Web designers and developers can find employment in a large corporation, a small family-run company, a non-profit organization, a school, government agency, or any other kind of company or organization.

Note:  Students must possess basic keyboarding skills prior to enrollment in the program.
